Myth #1: Everything is easy

You've heard this before.

Don't tell me you haven't.

It comes in a number of different wrappers but the message is always the same. It's this...

You can acheive your goals with no knowledge, skills, practice, time or effort.

And people who believe this BS tend to fall for it over and over and over again.

They believe it because they want to believe it.

They want to believe success is easy.

They want to believe success can be bought.

And they want to believe a generous guru will share his secrets with them...

... all for 4 monthly installments of $297.

Author Seth Godin has some interesting things to say about tribes. Here's one of them...

From Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us

A tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea.

For millions of years, human beings have been part of one tribe or another. A group needs only two things to be a tribe: a shared interest and a way to communicate.

Did you catch that?

A tribe needs only two things:

   2) a way to communicate

Podcasting is that way!

What's the alternative?

You ask really good questions!

I like that.

The alternative is reality.

The alternative is acknowledging that anything worth doing requires a decent level of effort.

A "decent level" doesn't necessarily mean heart-breaking, gut-wrenching or soul-crushing.

But it does mean that you don't start the journey with an expectation that it will be easy.

Or that success will come quickly.

Or that

And for people who refuse to quit the minute they encounter the smallest setback.

If you're one of them, you can close this browser tab now and head on over to your favorite guru's site to count the zeros on his monthly income tally.

So how are you different?

I'm glad you asked.

And to explain how I'm different and how this course is different, I'm going to discuss three big myths -- call them Lies if you dare -- that are hugely popular on the Internet today.

I'll start with the first of those myths...
